LiU establishes new infrastructure for materials research
A new Swedish research infrastructure for additive manufacturing (3D printing) and the finishing and qualification of components in tungsten for future nuclear power is being launched. LiU has been appointed coordinator for the MJOLNIR project.
Mechanical properties of structural materials
We work with a series of advanced mechanical tests methods to determine the mechanical properties of a material. By combining these methods with microstructural investigations we can study the active deformation and damage mechanisms.
Engineering Materials (KMAT)
The Division of Engineering Materials explore the relationships between microstructure and properties of mainly metallic materials but also ceramics, composites and polymers for engineering applications.
LiU Composite Lab - LCL
Here, research in new materials, for example, carbon fiber, polymers and composites will take place in collaboration with business, research institutes, other universities and students. LCL is establishing at 腦瞳憫, spring 2025.
