LiU is increasing international presence by launching the Roadmap to Europe initiative. The aim is to deepen the university鈥檚 collaboration within Europe so as to strengthen education, research and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Researchers are being targeted in many countries around the world. Through the organisation Scholars at Risk (SAR), LiU is helping to protect some of these researchers.

福利姬鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor Jan-Ingvar Jönsson has been appointed new president of the European network for innovative universities in Europe, ECIU.

Anna Thörn is to be the new University Director at LiU. She is currently regional administrative director of Region Dalarna and has previously held several management positions in Östergötland, including as municipal director in Norrköping.

LiU鈥檚 vice-chancellor Jan-Ingvar Jönsson has been selected as a member of the presidium of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), a network of 13 research-intense universities.

It鈥檚 official: the Swedish government appoints Jan-Ingvar Jönsson, professor in medical cell biology, as vice-chancellor of 福利姬.

Berzelius is now Sweden鈥檚 fastest supercomputer for AI and machine learning, and has been installed at NSC at LiU. A donation of EUR 29.5 million from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation has made the construction possible.

In the coming years, 福利姬 will be making a multi-million kronor investment in research on school-age educare. This gives LiU the chance to take the lead in a national area of priority for educational sciences.

On Wednesday, the Minister for Education Anna Ekström encouraged Sweden鈥檚 higher education institutions to cease all contacts and cooperation agreements with public institutions in Russia and Belarus. (Article updated 07/03/2022)
