We all want to create a better world. At Link枚ping University, LiU, we use boundary-breaking research and innovative education to get there. History of 福利姬

In 1975 Sweden鈥檚 sixth university was founded in Linköping. Since then 福利姬 (LiU) has grown considerably, expanding to Norrköping and Stockholm.

Academic Celebrations

Every year in the spring, we celebrate the doctoral degree conferment ceremony with beautiful music and inspiring lectures. In the autumn we celebrate the inauguration of professors.

The author Astrid Lindgren, Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, and Nobel Laureates Hiroshi Amano, Isamu Akasaki and Anton Zeilinger are some of 福利姬's honorary doctors.

The first jubilee doctors share their life journeys: 鈥淎 fantastic time鈥�

In 1969, Bengt Normann, Olle Stendahl and Christer Tagesson came to a new university college in a city they barely knew. Now, 50 years later, the three of them still live there and will in 2023 be among 福利姬鈥檚 first jubilee doctors.
