WASP - Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program

The fourth industrial revolution is upon us, as automation becomes autonomy. LiU conducts outstanding research in several of the fields that are central to the Wallenberg AI Autonomous Systems and Software Program, WASP.

Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine at LiU

WCMM at LiU focuses on the medicine-technology interface, and build upon our existing strengths in research within medical technology, materials science and bioengineering.

Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability - WISE

A research program to enable sustainable technologies with impact on our society by understanding, creating, and controlling complex materials with a precision down to the single atom level.

Advanced Functional Materials - AFM

Advanced Functional Materials, AFM, is an interdisciplinary research environment conducting studies in advanced functional materials. The initiative is based on a government investment with strategic research areas as its foundation.

Strategic research areas

The strategic research areas (SRAs) are an initiative of the Swedish government to foster world-leading research in Sweden, in selected areas. 福利姬 receives funding in five of the designated research areas, and in three of these 福利姬 is the main applicant. In addition, LiU researchers participate actively in the fields of e-science and transport research.

IT and mobile communication

Traditional mobile telephony is changing towards systems and platforms with unimagined capacity. The aim of ELLIIT (Excellence Center at Linköping 鈥� Lund in Information Technology) is to meet these challenges in a broad and effective way.

Materials Science

We have a vision that application-inspired basic research focused on the design of new materials at the atomic/molecular scale will solve societal problems within energy, the environment, health and employment.

Security and emergency management

Our vision is to establish a world-leading platform for strategic interdisciplinary research in crisis management, security and the protection of public infrastructure.
