An empirical study is currently being performed to expand the knowledge of how battlefield trauma care affects patient outcome in situations with a large number of casualties in the Swedish Armed Forces. Using a convergent parallel mixed methods design, observations and interviews are conducted. The work provides input to the further development of the Emergo Train System® and how to assess trauma care in military contexts. Analyzing this complex chain of events requires novel approaches to offer cost-effective methods that are valid and reliable
