To advance the field of nanomedicine, we are developing new nanoparticle design principles to facilitate nano-mediated delivery to targeted organs and highly specific delivery to cells involved in the diseases progression to enable precise therapies. We’re through our research establishing the relationship between chemical structures and activity of nanoparticles. One of our focuses is immunotherapy, since our immune system has the inherent capacity to provide protection from components/pathogens causing diseases. We’re engineering nanoparticles to program patients’ immune cells and cancer cells to induce signaling that would unleash the patient’s immune system full potential to recognize and fight cancer cells. Our research program is also pioneering technical advancements to enable new avenues for RNA-based therapies that would help patients having central nervous system (CNS) disorders.
