In clinical cohorts PEs are associate with a broad spectrum of non-psychotic disorders, suicidal behavior and multimorbidity. Currently, there is a lack of clinic-based research on early psychotic symptoms. Unfortunately, this together with a poorly understood etiology and a limited diagnostic arsenal makes it difficult to manage children with PEs in a timely and efficient manner.
Our ongoing research efforts focus on the search of novel biomarkers for PEs in order to better understand the underlying mechanisms of severe early psychopathology and with the aim to develop new diagnostic and treatment possibilities.
