I explore the horizons of chronic illness and the limits of language in medical humanities.

At some point, a suffering body runs into the limits of language. Words to describe symptoms are no longer enough. I focus on the intersections between chronic illness, figurative language, and meaning-making.

I study how metaphors bring forth the complexity of post-Covid symptoms in patient experiences, helping to define the very inexpressible.

The pandemic has impacted us all, but some more than others. For those who are suffering from post-Covid, the lingering impact is particularly tangible. Interdisciplinary research is needed to understand this new health challenge.
