(De)humanization – Philosophical, Historical, and Cultural Perspectives

This workshop brings together scholars from different disciplines to explore the concept of dehumanization and its significance in social, political, and historical contexts.

Through a series of talks and discussions, the workshop examines how (de)humanization is understood across a range of theoretical frameworks and empirical settings. By approaching the topic from multiple angles, the workshop aims to foster dialogue on the mechanisms, expressions, and consequences of (de)humanization, as well as on strategies for critically engaging with and responding to it.
