BME@LiU is a conference day that highlights the research conducted at 腦瞳憫 (LiU) in the field of biomedical engineering. Here you find summaries of previous BME conferences. Organiser is the Department of Biomedical Engineering (IMT).

BME@LiU 2025

Programme overview

The 2025 conference brought together 250 participants, who could choose from more than 30 presentations. As 腦瞳憫 celebrated its 50th anniversary, the conference opened with a presentation on the development of biomedical engineering at the university.

Sessions

The parallel morning sessions focused on the following themes:

  • Novel Instruments, Biosensors and Biomaterials
  • Modelling and AI
  • eHealth and Clinical Implementation

In the afternoon, attention shifted to the following areas:

  • Life Science Technologies (LSX), an initiative at LiU where eight recipients of interdisciplinary seed grants presented collaborative research projects.
  • Medical Imaging and Visualisation, a clinically oriented session addressing the use of emerging technologies in specific medical challenges and in education.
