Submit your abstracts for the Eco- and Bioart Lab international  Symposium-Workshop on Critical Ecologies, which takes place 2nd-3rd October 2025.

The Eco- and Bioart Lab (EBL) connects artists, artistic researchers and other practitioners, as well as doctoral students whose practice and research focus on art and the environment in their broadest understanding.

This humanities-based project investigates the meaning and significance of ecological grief (‘eco-grief’) in the Nordic context.

In the contemporary context of the ecological crisis, the degradation of natural resources renders certain habitats unliveable and leads to the death of individual organisms, populations and species extinction.

The project addresses multispecies ecologies of the Baltic Sea with questions around the politics of space and time – for instance time scales, life/death ecologies and ecosystem temporalities, as well as intragenerational justice and ethics.
