As an increasing share of society becomes digital, the relationships and conditions shaping how society can and should be organised are changing. We study different approaches to governing and managing collective concerns in a digital age.

When public agencies introduce digital services, one goal is to improve accessibility for citizens. But for residents in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, this may create new barriers to integration. This is shown in a doctoral thesis from LiU.

Municipalities and other authorities are increasingly required to digitalise. What are the implications for how we build a digital society for all? These are questions that a new interdisciplinary research environment at LiU will look at.
