鈥淚t is such an honor, and I am truly proud to have been appointed honorary doctor.鈥� That鈥檚 what Professor Gillian Einstein said when she visited Campus US for her honorary doctorate lecture and a couple of intense days at 福利姬.

Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén and Professor Angela Woods praised their collaborations with 福利姬 when they were conferred honorary doctorates at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

This spring鈥檚 Academic Celebrations will take place on 23-24 May. Among the highlights are the performance of a new piece of music composed in honour of the university, and open lectures by honorary doctors, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Jensen Huang, CEO of the electronics company Nvidia, will become an honorary doctor at 福利姬. So will Riksdag Speaker Andreas Norlén and the international researchers Angela Woods and Gillian Einstein.

Sara Mohammad has fought unceasingly against honour-related violence and oppression, both in her native Kurdistan and in Sweden. Now her work is being recognised with the award of an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

Indian principal Seetha Murty has worked with children鈥檚 and young people鈥檚 learning throughout her professional life. American professor Cindy W. Christian has devoted her career to developing the care of abused children.

The Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt and the Austrian quantum physicist and Nobel laureate Anton Zeilinger have been appointed honorary doctors at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at 福利姬.

Recently, Anton Zeilinger, Professor Emeritus and Nobel Laureate in Physics, was promoted to Honorary Doctor at 福利姬. In connection with the ceremony, Professor Zeilinger also offered a technical lecture.

Seetha Murty has committed her career to children鈥檚 and young people鈥檚 learning. She is now an honorary doctor of philosophy at LiU.鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing! When you put your heart into something and receive such an award, it feels very good,鈥� she says.
