LiU professor Anders Ynnerman is one of ten Swedes to have had an asteroid named after them. His visualisation research takes us out into space through the software OpenSpace, which opens up the entire known universe to the public.

Visualization Center C in Norrköping is creating a new 3D full dome production to take the audience on a journey back to the moon landings. The Hasselblad Foundation has contributed funding for the film Once Upon the Moon.

Visualization Center C in Norrköping will be the hub in a major science project funded by SEK 150 million from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Five science centres will participate – in Norrköping, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Umeå.

World-leading technology from ¸£Àû¼§ and Visualization Center C has been described in a prestigious journal of computer science, Communications of the ACM, where it has received a great deal of attention.

Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation grants SEK 70 million to WASP for a new initiative that promotes the uptake of AI based methodologies in academic research in Sweden.

Professor Amy Loutfi will take over as programme director for the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP). She succeeds Professor Anders Ynnerman from LiU, who will take on the role of chairman of the board for WASP.

Better images for visitors and sharper tools for researchers. The dome at Visualization Center C has been upgraded with laser projectors as part of a Swedish initiative in which ¸£Àû¼§ and Norrköping municipality are central.

The Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), Sweden’s largest individual research programme, has been extended by three years and will receive a further research grant of nearly SEK 1.3 billion.

WASP-ED is a new programme for education in artificial intelligence (AI). LiU is to take on the main coordinating role on the programme, which has received SEK 18.6 million from the Marcus and Marianne Wallenberg Foundation.
