Transport and mobility - a high-profile research area
Transport and mobility is one of LiU's strategically selected areas of development that is of great relevance to our society. The research has three main orientations; the traffic system, the logistics system and the vehicular system.
Circular public transport
Projektet syftar till att skapa en mer cirkulär kollektivtrafik genom att utveckla hållbara upphandlingsmetoder och förlänga fordons livslängd, vilket minskar kostnader och miljöpåverkan inom transportsektorn.
Mathematics and algorithms for intelligent decision-making
On the journey towards sustainability, our contribution is to develop mathematical models and solution methods for practically relevant but computationally challenging problems in scheduling and resource allocation.
Collaborate transport planning and cost allocation
Quantitative models and methods are developed for analysing, designing and evaluating logistics system with respect to collaborative transports among companies, e.g. in city logistics and in forestry transports.
Air traffic and transportation planning and management
We develop mathematical models and algorithmic solutions for challenges in air traffic management and air transportation.
Traffic Modeling and Simulation
Our research includes both the development of new types of models, and the application of models to new situations. The models studied include both the demand and supply side of the problem and...
Railway and public transport
The research group for railway and public transport is interested in developing models and methods, which describe the traffic and can be used as decision support tools.
Transport Analytics
We are currently working with data from stationary radar sensors which measure speed and flow of traffic, GPS data from vehicles driving around urban areas, and mobile phone location data extracted from the mobile phone network.
