The aim of my research is to explain corporate profits by developing models of how corporate decisions and external factors influence corporate profits.
Corporate profits are influenced by both corporate decisions and random processes such as exchange rates, interest rates, commodity prices, etc., which makes it difficult to evaluate decisions and make optimal decisions in the future. By decomposing profits, one can determine one’s exposure to risk factors and also evaluate decisions that have been made.
