LiU researcher Jelena Kurilova was invited by the renowned journal Resources, Conservation & Recycling (RCR) to present her research on how companies can develop sustainable and circular manufacturing.

The STIGMA project tackles waste prevention and product life extension issues and illuminates circular solutions to enable continuous product use/reuse, such as Product as a Service (PaaS) and Remanufacturing.

Ten researchers have been awarded grants from Formas – a Swedish research council for sustainable development. The projects explore everything from digital inclusion and sustainable urban transformation to the migration of domestic workers.

Researchers working on the project "Interdisciplinary networking for a sustainable and circular economy (INSCE) met in Kaunas Lithuania to discuss current and futures trends in sustainability and circular economy related research.

Remanufacturing is a way to preserve the value of products that have already been manufactured. Researchers at ¸£Àû¼§, LiU, have shown the potential of automation in repair and remanufacturing.

With its focus on crisis preparedness and on society’s ability to manage these, the research programmes are assessed as having great potential to benefit society.

LiU hosted an open lecture titled "Pick and Mix Circular Economy and why we love it" as part of the Interdisciplinary Networking for a Sustainable and Circular Economy (INSCE) project funded by the ECIU SMART-ER program.
