Visual Media Communication

People standing around a model of earth

Visual Media Communication combines academic expertise with strong industry connections. We conduct interdisciplinary research, particularly in visual communication, and play an active role in the innovative TellUs – The Talking Planet project. Additionally, we educate future graphic designers and communicators by integrating theory with hands-on practice.

We conduct interdisciplinary research in areas such as visual communication, visual culture, storytelling, popular culture, communication strategies, and science communication. Some of our members hold leading roles in the innovative research and development project . Led by Visualiseringscenter C, the project aims to spark young people’s interest in science and STEM subjects by making complex data more accessible and engaging. This is achieved through a mobile spherical installation that facilitates visioverbal learning.

Another key mission is teaching in the Graphic Design and Communication bachelor’s program. This program equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in graphic design, production, and communication. Many of our faculty members are actively engaged in industries relevant to students’ future careers, ensuring that the program maintains a strong professional foundation.
