At the research environment Technology and Science Education Research (TekNaD), where I serve as head for research, we conduct nationally and internationally leading subject-specific educational research. Our work at TekNaD primarily explores:
- Language, tools, and representations in science and technology education.
- The role of digital tools and the impact of digitalization in science and technology classrooms.
- Assessment practices in science and technology education.
- Historical, philosophical, and cultural perspectives on science and technology in schools.
My research focuses on understanding how multimodal interaction and communication unfold in science classrooms. Over the past several years, I have led and contributed to multiple interdisciplinary research projects exploring multimodal meaning-making in STEM education. My expertise lies in multimodal interaction and communication within STEM education, and my current research aims to advance the field at the intersection of multimodal teaching and assessment practices - particularly in relation to multilingual learners in science education.
