Department of Electrical Engineering (ISY)

At the Department of Electrical Engineering (ISY), we conduct research and education in the field of electrical engineering. This includes four undergraduate areas and eight research environments distributed across six scientific divisions. A strong emphasis is placed on research collaboration and large industrial collaborations.

Established in 1969, the Department of Electrical Engineering has actively contributed to the technological development of society. Several new and successful companies have their origins here. The department's research has also influenced the established industry, particularly through our many doctoral graduates who now work in various sectors.

Many of our former students apply the knowledge gained from their engineering education to introduce new and current methods in their sectors. This is a result of our strong emphasis on collaboration between undergraduate education, research and doctoral studies, as well as large industrial collaborations.

At the Department of Electrical Engineering at Linköping University, we have nearly 200 employees spread across seven divisions. Our courses are offered to more than 3,000 students each year.

Center for Heterogeneous Adaptive Swarm Systems - CHASS

A single drone has limited capabilities, but a swarm of drones working as a unit can search large areas, monitor wildfires, deliver supplies in times of disaster, or protect critical facilities. This is the vision of CHASS.
