Kinga Barrafrem’s doctoral thesis on behavioural economics has been deemed so outstanding that it has been awarded the Wallander Grant.

This year, 20 new doctors have been awarded Wallander Grants for doctoral theses in the fields of economics, business and economic history. Kinga Barrafrem (formerly Kinga Posadzy) published her doctoral thesis in 2017. It investigated how social and economic factors affect decision making under uncertainty.

The grant, valued at SEK 1.7 million, enables three years of full-time research. Kinga Barrafrem’s current research concerns how we make financial decisions, why we sometimes avoid them, and how to help us make better financial decisions.
